Big Sky Lodges is a family run business which offers six warm and cosy log cabins in the Scottish Highlands, each one unique with plenty of homely touches to make it a special place. Located in Muir of Ord near Ross-shire, our lodges come with wood burning stoves, original art work and stylish furniture. We also have a quirky glamping Hideaway caravan, perfect for a magical getaway in a stunning location.

Set on 17 acres of traditional Scottish croft land. Big Sky has fantastic views over birch woodland and open meadows grazed by horses and our famous Big Sky highland cattle. Ideally situated on the iconic North Coast 500, just ten miles from Inverness with its international airport, and near to Loch Ness, you won’t find a better or more relaxing base to explore the whole of the highlands. On our very doorstep is some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland.

First and foremost, Big Sky Lodges, offers natural, environmentally friendly (wood is the only carbon neutral construction material) Scottish holidays for those seeking an exceptional natural area in which to stay as a family. The log cabins are built with the highest quality Finnish pine from Lapland, with the most modern comforts of home. Each log cabin is special, having been beautifully, tastefully and newly decorated throughout, with excellent fixtures and fittings providing a Highland home from home.

Eagle Lodge

Eagle Lodge is a beautiful cosy Scandinavian Lodge situated on our croft in a picturesque area of The Black Isle and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Eagle Lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with a wood burning stove (free firewood!), solid pine floors, wood lined rooms, full central heating and comfy and stylish furniture. The lodge has one double room with en suite and balcony, two twin rooms and a family bathroom.There is an open plan living room with wood burner and comfy leather sofas and a fully fitted kitchen and dining area. Outside there is a veranda, with outdoor seating and BBQ, private garden and parking. All bookings include complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee, fresh milk and teacakes!

Mountain Lodge

Mountain Lodge is a beautiful cosy Scandinavian Lodge situated on our family croft in a picturesque area of The Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with a wood burning stove (free firewood!), solid pine floors, wood lined rooms, full central heating and comfy and stylish furniture. Mountain lodge has two double rooms and one twin room, all en suite. There is a large open plan living area with wood burner and comfy leather sofas, fully equipped kitchen and dining area and an additional cosy mezzanine living room. Outside there is a veranda with outdoor seating and BBQ, private garden and parking area. All bookings include complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee, fresh milk and teacakes!

Pipers Wood Lodge

Piper’s Wood Lodge is a beautiful cosy Scandinavian Lodge situated on our croft in a picturesque area of The Black Isle and offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with a wood burning stove (free firewood!), solid pine floors, wood lined rooms, full central heating and comfy and stylish furniture. Wildcat Lodge

The Hideaway

Our unique glamping caravan offers a cosy feel, complemented by handmade and vintage details. Set amongst the trees, The Hideaway is a haven for nature lovers. Inside there is a bright living room with a wood burning stove and TV, whilst a compact kitchen comes with everything you will need. It comes with a snug double bedroom, shower room and complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels. Outside there is a delightful garden and decking area, with a table for two and charcoal BBQ. Perfect for admiring the glorious views across our croft.

Visiting Muir of Ord & Exploring The Highlands

Big Sky is ideally situated on the edge of the beautiful Black Isle, just ten miles from Inverness with its international airport and near to Loch Ness. You won’t find a better or more relaxing base to explore the whole of the highlands. On the very doorstep is some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland.
