Pudding Cottage provides spacious family friendly accommodation for six people (plus a baby). It has been beautifully decorated and equipped with all mod cons to offer a luxurious yet homely holiday experience.

Cooking and eating together as a family is a pleasure in the traditional farmhouse style dining kitchen. The newly refurbished kitchen is superbly equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and washer/dryer as well as a dining table for you all to sit around and enjoy a great family meal.

The bright and spacious lounge offers plenty of space for children to play with the toys, games and craft box provided plus there's the bonus of an Xbox 360 games console in addition to the TV, DVD, and CD players. The lounge has a large patio window on looking the garden. From here you can watch the kids playing safely or simply observe the huge variety of wildlife that resides in and around the cottage.

Each of the three bedrooms at Pudding Cottage has its own welcoming style with close attention to detail. The master en suite bedroom is in warm pinks and oranges with a cast iron white bed. There is another king size bedroom and a twin room.

Outside is a large patio area with access to a large, enclosed communal garden that is full of toys. Just across the road is an adventure play area at Brockhole – the Lake District Visitor Centre. Pudding Cottage also has a large private patio terrace and BBQ area with outdoor dining table and chairs where parents can keep an eye on the kids at play while relaxing with a glass of wine.

There is an abundance of wildlife around the cottage. Our resident ducks make an appearance every summer and if you leave the back door open they may wander right into the kitchen!

Rabbits scamper across the lawn all day and in the early morning, you may well see the baby deer that wander the grounds of the Merewood Estate. They occasionally come right up to the kitchen window but you have to stay very still so as not to frighten them. Pudding Cottage is also a bird watchers paradise the lounge window had a number of bird feeders outside and twitchers have recorded sightings of a huge variety of birds!

Customer Review

“Perfect cottage in perfect location” -
Reviewed 17 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

“A great cottage that was deceptively spacious. Plenty of room for a family of 4 plus grand-parents. The cottage has absolutely everything you'd ever need or think of and is wonderfully comfortable and warm (even during a snowy February half term). The visitor centre opposite wasn't even on our radar but when the weather turned foul, the fantastic adventure playground and indoor soft play kept the kids entertained and happy. You can get the ferry from here too so day trips are a doddle. The location is in perfect striking distance for fell walks, museums and attractions and fine dining. It's always interesting to read through the visitor book and the ones at Pudding Cottage reflect visitors coming back 10 times! Parking for a couple of cars too. Great setting, great location, top cottage!”
